Chapter 01

Overview

When FFV bought Husqvarna’s rifle business in 1970, Carl Gustaf in Eskilstuna kept the Husqvarna 1900 in production and developed it into the Carl Gustaf 2000. Its launch was postponed when a large army order for the ksp m/58 machine gun took the factory, and Carl Gustaf sold Sauer-made rifles as the CG 3000 and CG 4000 until the 2000 was taken up again.

Chapter 02

How it works

A 1900 descendant with a detachable single-stack magazine and a trigger built on rollers, which has drawn its share of criticism. It came in two generations, MKI and MKII; the first is said to have had small recurring faults, such as a weak bolt spring and oil from the bolt spraying back toward the shooter.

Chapter 03

Variants

MKI and MKII are the two generations. The CG 3000 and CG 4000 that filled the gap carry Carl Gustaf’s name but are Sauer 80 and Sauer 200 rifles, with German receivers and, usually, Swedish barrels and stocks.
