Chapter 01

Overview

Introduced in 2018 as the MTR — multi-task rimfire — the T1x is Tikka’s bolt-action .22 LR and .17 HMR, built on the same receiver footprint as the centrefire T3x. Tikka designs it for small-game hunting and training, so a shooter moves between the two without the rifle changing in the hands.

Chapter 02

How it works

A cold-hammer-forged chrome-moly barrel threaded into the receiver and hand-crowned, a removable bolt handle with a 45° lift, and a two-position safety that blocks both trigger and bolt. The single-stage trigger adjusts through the magazine well from 1 to 2 kg, with a set trigger as an option, and the fibreglass-reinforced magazine holds 10 rounds, or 5–6 in the short version.

Chapter 03

Variants

The MTR for target work and small game, the Hunter in the look of a traditional T3x hunting rifle, the UPR built in the image of the T3x UPR precision rifle, and the Ace Target for competition.

Chapter 04

In the field

Small game and practice: low recoil and less noise than a centrefire, and a cheap round for the repetitions that make a hunter. For a T3x owner it is the cheap way to keep the same rifle feel in practice all year, moose season included.
