Indicative only. A second-hand gun is worth what its condition, chambering and provenance say — these are published figures, not an offer.
Chapter 01
Overview
Built at Uherský Brod from 1995 until 2020, the CZ 550 was the last mass-produced controlled-round-feed Mauser action sold at a working hunter’s price. Its discontinuation left a gap that nothing at the same money has filled.
Chapter 02
How it works
A true Mauser claw extractor and a fixed blade ejector on a forged receiver, with a single-set trigger on most European models — push the trigger forward and it breaks at a few hundred grams. The magnum-length action swallowed .375 H&H and .416 Rigby without a proprietary anything.
Chapter 03
In the field
The African guide’s rifle for twenty-five years, and a boar rifle everywhere else. Controlled feed, a set trigger and iron sights that were fitted as standard rather than as an option is a specification that has quietly become rare.
