Indicative only. A second-hand gun is worth what its condition, chambering and provenance say — these are published figures, not an offer.

Chapter 01

Overview

Buying Mauser 98 actions from FN, its own competitor, never suited Husqvarna, and in 1953 it answered with the 1600-series — its own bolt action. It was dropped in 1969 for the cheaper push-feed 8000.

Chapter 02

How it works

A small-ring, Mauser-like action that Husqvarna advertised as the “HVA Improved Mauser Action”. It kept the Mauser idea and lost the dependency on Belgian parts.

Chapter 03

In the field

Chambered for 6.5×55, 8×57, 9.3×62, .270 Winchester and .30-06 among others. The 6.5×55 meets Swedish class 1, which makes the 1600 a moose rifle in its most common Swedish chambering, and the 9.3×62 is there for anyone who wants a heavier bullet.
