Chapter 01

Overview

Mauser’s no-frills rifle, pitched as hunting reduced to its fundamental form and “Made in Germany”. It comes out of the same factory as Sauer’s entry-level 100, launched in 2016, and shares many of its parts.

Chapter 02

How it works

Three locking lugs, a cold-hammer forged barrel and a three-position safety that works silently on the trigger. A removable five-round magazine, a direct trigger adjustable from 1,000 to 2,000 g, and a polymer stock with soft-grip inlays whose recoil pad comes off without tools to open a storage space in the butt.

Chapter 03

Variants

Sold as the Standard, Pure, Pure Max, Stainless, Waldjagd, Extreme, Fenris and Fenris Silence — the last with an integrated silencer — in polymer, laminated beech or perforated beech-ply stocks. Calibres run from .222 Rem to .300 Win Mag and include 6.5×55, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 8×57 IS, 9.3×62 and 8.5×55 Blaser.

Chapter 04

In the field

Standard calibres hold 5+1 and magnums 4+1, with M15×1 muzzle threads on most versions for a moderator. A safety that moves without a click is worth more on a stand than any engraving, and the tool-free butt is room for spare rounds or a knife.
