Chapter 01

Overview

Made since 2014, the Finnfire II takes its name from the 1996 Finnfire but is technically a mix of that rifle and the Sako Quad. It is Sako’s fixed-barrel bolt-action rimfire, in .22 LR and .17 HMR.

Chapter 02

How it works

The receiver is close to the Quad’s, but the barrel is held by a cross pin rather than the Quad’s quick-change system or the old Finnfire’s two cross bolts, so it is not meant to be swapped by the owner. Two locking lugs, a 50° bolt lift, an 11 mm dovetail, a factory-threaded ½"-20 muzzle and a single-stage trigger adjustable between 1 and 2 kg, with a set trigger as an option.
