Chapter 01

Overview

The SR21 is Heym’s conventional turn-bolt, stablemate to the SR30 straight-pull, and Heym Manufaktur now builds it only in the Nordstern version. Gun Mart found it one of the slickest actions its reviewer had handled, with a superior trigger.

Chapter 02

How it works

A tubular steel receiver with a three-lug bolt and a 60° lift, a three-position safety on the shroud that can lock the bolt, and a detachable single-column magazine holding three rounds in standard calibres. Heym’s classic versions paired a direct trigger with a set trigger.

Chapter 03

Variants

Heym’s 2009 range offered Klassisch, Standard, Keiler and Concord in normal and large calibres, right- or left-handed, with 58 or 61 cm barrels on the Klassisch and 50 or 58 cm on the Keiler. Gun Mart tested the SR21 Precision, with a GRS laminate stock and full-length Picatinny rail, in .22-250.

Chapter 04

In the field

The Keiler is the driven-boar SR21, with a short barrel and Heym’s luminous Keiler sight, while Gun Mart saw the heavy-barrelled Precision as a longer-range fox rifle. Heym’s current configurator runs from .222 Rem. through 6.5×55, 8×57 JS and 9.3×62 to .375 Ruger.
