Chapter 01

Overview

Krieghoff presented the Hubertus in 1995 as a light and elegant single-shot rifle, and it is still built in Ulm as a break-action with one barrel and one cartridge. Krieghoff sells the standard model as its stalking rifle: light, short and easy to handle.

Chapter 02

How it works

The action comes in steel or Dural with the Combi-Cocking Device, the Universal Trigger System and an integrated set trigger, and the sight rib is hard-soldered so that taking a scope on and off the pivot bridge mount does not shift the point of impact. Standard barrels are 60 cm (55 cm optional), octagonal and fluted barrels are offered, and the rifle weighs about 2.5–3.2 kg.

Chapter 03

Variants

The standard Hubertus runs from .222 Rem. to 9.3×74R, with rimmed classics such as 5.6×50R Mag., 6.5×57R, 7×65R and 8×57IRS among them; the Hubertus Magnum is steel-actioned only, in 7 mm Rem. Mag., at about 2.9–3.2 kg. Interchangeable barrels in standard, magnum (steel action only) and octagonal form fit the same action.

Chapter 04

In the field

Krieghoff builds the standard rifle for stalking and the magnum for demanding situations that call for a stronger calibre. The ejectors can be set to extract only, and a stock magazine with a hinged cover keeps spare cartridges in the butt.
