Chapter 01

Overview

The Quad is Sako’s switch-barrel rimfire: one action, four factory barrels in .17 Mach 2, .22 LR, .17 HMR and .22 WMR. Sako sells it as a small-game hunting and training rifle that works as its own system.

Chapter 02

How it works

The barrel comes out with a 5 mm hex key — three full turns, tilt, lift — and each barrel is colour-coded to its chambering, with a matching Burris scope turret. Two magazine types cover the short .17 HM2 and .22 LR and the longer .17 HMR and .22 WMR; the bolt lifts 50° and the trigger adjusts from 500 to 2,000 grams.

Chapter 03

Variants

Hunter Pro in a full-size walnut stock styled on the Sako 75, Synthetic with a rubber recoil pad, Heavy Barrel with a Monte Carlo cheekpiece for bench work, and the Range MT in .22 LR with an adjustable cheek and butt and a rail for a bipod.

Chapter 04

In the field

One rifle for the whole small-game calendar: .22 LR for practice and close work, .17 HMR or .22 WMR when the distance opens. Because the scope stays on the action, a barrel change keeps the same rifle in hand and only the turret colour moves.
