Chapter 01

Overview

Announced in November 2021 with five models for 2022, the CZ 600 is a clean-sheet modular bolt-action that took over from the 527. In August 2025 it was reworked as the CZ 600+ series, developed with input from the medal-winning shooter and hunter Matthew Emmons.

Chapter 02

How it works

The patented bolt locks into the barrel rather than the receiver and gives controlled feed with a short extractor, the vertical safety on the grip works in silence, and the magazine can be set detachable or fixed. Barrels are cold hammer-forged and swap by calibre within a receiver size; the Lux pairs a steel receiver and Remington 700-pattern mounting interface with a 60° bolt throw and an M15×1 muzzle thread.

Chapter 03

Variants

The 2022 line was Alpha, Lux, Ergo, Range and Trail; today’s 600+ line also carries the American, Ergo Driven Hunt for driven hunts with orange safety details and a muzzle brake, and the MDT Grey and Deep Bronze for PRS. The Lux is CZ’s classic European hunting rifle: walnut stock with cheekpiece and removable fibre-optic iron sights.

Chapter 04

In the field

The Lux was announced in .223 Rem, .308 Win, 8×57 IS, .30-06 and .300 Win Mag with sub-MOA guaranteed for three shots at 100 m; .308, .30-06 and .300 Win Mag are Swedish class 1 calibres for moose, .223 class 2 for roe deer and fox. A safety that moves without a sound is exactly what a moose stand asks for.
